Union Comm Wins APEC Approval for Senior Citizen Digital Inclusion Project

Union Communications Hong Kong Limited (“Union Comm”), a leading policy advocacy and communications agency, delightly announced that the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC, https://www.apec.org/) officially approved the project proposal for identifying digital solutions, technologies, best practices, and government policies aimed at empowering senior citizens across APEC economies.

This approval marked a significant milestone in the company's commitment to enhancing digital inclusion, gender equality, and the quality of life for seniors across the APEC region.

The project, titled APEC Digital Solutions and Technologies for Senior Citizens' Connectivity and Healthiness aims to bridge the gap between senior citizens and access to essential health and connectivity services. To be launched in 2025, the initiative will encompass research, surveys, interviews, and workshops to address and contribute to one of APEC's most pressing topics: the ageing population.

"Receiving APEC's endorsement for this project is not just a professional achievement but also a deeply personal one," said Sam Han, partner at Union Comm. "The idea for this initiative came from watching my parents, who in their senior years, struggle to navigate the complexities of digital tools and technologies. This project is a commitment not only to them but to all seniors across the APEC region, to ensure they are not left behind in our rapidly advancing digital world. We're dedicated to making some difference in their lives through this work, in collaboration with the Beijing International Exchange Association (https://www.bjexchange.cn/)."

Union Comm invites partners from various sectors, including senior citizens, technology, healthcare, and policy-making, to join in this collaborative effort. The project's success hinges on collective expertise and shared commitment to enhancing senior citizen welfare through innovative digital solutions. Together, we can create a digital inclusion future where age is not a barrier.
